A Delaware County motorist chased two African American women who had passed him and caught up to their car at a nursing home, where he pointed a handgun at them and called out racial slurs and expletives, according to court documents.

Robert G. Lambert, 52, of Trainer, who is white, has been charged with aggravated assault, terroristic threats, harassment, and ethnic intimidation in the incident.

According to court documents, Lambert was heading west in a Jeep on a two-lane section of Naamans Creek Road near Highland Drive at 6:45 a.m. Thursday at an "extremely low rate of speed" when a car driven by Shardae Wilson pulled around him.

Wilson was taking a friend, Jashona Degraphemreed, to work at the Naamans Creek Country Manor health-care facility, a few miles away on Naamans Creek Road in Bethel Township.

Lambert allegedly accelerated and tailgated Wilson's car until it stopped at the nursing home. Pulling up next to her, he aimed the gun at the women and used slurs and expletives. He then sped off.

Degraphemreed was later able to identify Lambert from a series of police photos.

Lambert was taken into custody later in the day at his home. He was arraigned, posted bail, and was released on a home monitor, according to court officials. A message left for Lambert's attorney was not returned. Efforts to reach the two women were not successful.
