Council critical of Art Museum security firm
City Council members asked Art Museum officials Monday why they had not hired a new security company after the current contractor, AlliedBarton of Conshohocken, challenged the October formation of a union for guards. "AlliedBarton in my opinion not only is not doing right by workers, they're not doing right by you," Councilman William K. Greenlee told Timothy Rub, director and CEO of the Philadelphia Museum of Art. The union wants a contract with AlliedBarton with higher wages, benefits, and training. Rub said the museum was merely a "third party" to the dispute. - Miriam Hill
