A Spring City woman has been charged with stealing almost $101,000 from a Norristown law firm, where she worked as a paralegal, to pay restitution for stealing from a New York law firm.

Kathy Foer-Morse, 49, owed $285,000 in restitution to the New York City firm Satterlee Stephens Burke & Burke L.L.P. in a theft case. She then got a job with the Norristown firm High Swartz L.L.P., Montgomery County prosecutors said yesterday.

Foer-Morse allegedly wrote 12 unauthorized checks on the High Swartz account to pay restitution in the New York case while awaiting sentencing there. She was fired by the Norristown firm May 1, was arraigned in Montgomery County on Friday, and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing May 26. - Derrick Nunnally
