Twist and turns Though he's one of the great filmmakers, it's perhaps his idiosyncratic style that makes it unlikely for Preston Sturges to automatically make anyone's list of the top directors. So it's good to be reminded of his charms once in a while, as with the 1942 comedy The Palm Beach Story, a fast-paced, twist-a-minute screwball tale of twins, an unhappily married couple, a much-married society gal, and the richest man in the world (Rudy Vallee) twirling about in Florida. The film screens at 7 p.m. at the County Theater, 20 E. State St., Doylestown. Tickets are $10. Call 215-345-6789. The film also screens at the Ambler Theater, 108 E. Butler Ave., Ambler, at 7 p.m. Wednesday. Tickets are $10. Call 215-345-7855.
