Flyers recall Syvret

The Flyers Thursday today recalled defenseman Danny Syvret from the Phantoms, and he took part in their morning skate.

The Flyers play the woeful New Jersey Devils in Newark, N.J. Thursday night.

Syvret is apparently here as insurance in case Kimmo Timonen's bothersome hip prevents him from playing. Timonen also was at the morning skate.

In 19 games with the Phantoms, Syvret had five goals and seven assists.

The Phantoms are headed on a trip to British Columbia, Canada, so the Flyers wanted to add a defenseman before the team was too far away.
