Police credit observant neighbor in burglary arrest

An alert neighbor helped lead police to a man suspected in a string of burglaries in Moorestown, Haddonfield and Cherry Hill, authorities said today.

An alert neighbor helped lead police to a man suspected in a string of burglaries in Moorestown, Haddonfield and Cherry Hill, authorities said today.

Moorestown police said Daniel Dillon, 26, who lived at the Clover Motel on Route 73 in Maple Shade, has been charged with one burglary and three attempted break ins, all on Nov. 4, in the tony Burlington County township.

A resident of the neighborhood of the burgled home on Red Lead Road gave police a license plate number that led investigators to Dillon, police said.

Dillon also is expected to be charged with burglaries in the Camden County towns of Haddonfield and Cherry Hill, police said.

Arrested on Monday, Dillon was being held on $5,000 bail at the Burlington County Jail in Mount Holly.

Moorestown police said the case highlights the importance of neighbors watching out for neighbors and reporting suspicious activity.
