The woman, who was about 40 years old, was struck at 4:06 a.m. under the Ashland Avenue overpass in Glenolden Borough, officials said.

A paramedic pronounced her dead at 4:33 a.m., Glenolden police said.

What the woman was doing on the tracks is not yet clear. The Delaware County Medical Examiner's Officer will determine whether the death was an accident or a suicide.
