West Chester Friends School will add a new work of art to its campus later this week, thanks an artist-in-residence program.

Bonnie Gale, an artist who works exclusively with willow, will help students create a willow fence, known as a fedge, on Thursday and Friday. The archway-shaped structure, made entirely by willow leaves wound and twisted together with no outside adhesives, will be dedicated at a ceremony on Friday afternoon.

Gale has worked with West Chester Friends students since November, showing them how to make baskets, lanterns, stars, and other creations out of willow.
