CHOP signs rehab management contract

Children's Hospital of Philadelphia has signed a three-year management contract with Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Network in Allentown to take over management of medical rehabilitation, which includes speech, physical, occupational and recreational therapy of CHOP patients.

Children's Hospital of Philadelphia has signed a three-year management contract with Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Network in Allentown to take over management of medical rehabilitation, which includes speech, physical, occupational and recreational therapy of CHOP patients.

Financial terms of the contract which begins this month were not disclosed.

Good Shepherd, with expertise in rehabilitation and management services, will provide medical oversight and employ a pediatric rehabilitation program director and a business development coordinator for CHOP. Good Shepherd will oversee the rehabilitation care for children in the hospital and at outpatient centers, including the 18-bed Children's Seashore House rehabilitation unit. Therapists and other rehabilitation staff will remain employees of CHOP.    - Linda Loyd
