SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - Carlisle Cos. Inc. said today that it will temporarily close heavy truck trailer production operations in Western Pennsylvania and North Dakota.

Production at Carlisle's Trail King Industries in those two states will be consolidated with its Mitchell, S.D., operations during the shutdowns.

The company plans to close the Brookville, Pa., facility (in Jefferson County) from mid-June through early September. The West Fargo, N.D., plant will be closed in early June and resume operations in early August.

All three locations will continue to provide normal parts and maintenance services during the consolidation of production operations.

David Roberts, Carlisle chairman, president and CEO, said the move was a needed response to current market demand.

The company didn't say how employees would be affected.
