Chicken entrees, ice cream added to peanut recall

The Hain Celestial Group of West Chester is recalling about 983,700 pounds of frozen chicken entrees that contain peanut products, produced by the Peanut Corp. of America, that have been linked to a salmonella outbreak.

The Hain Celestial Group of West Chester is recalling about 983,700 pounds of frozen chicken entrees that contain peanut products, produced by the Peanut Corp. of America, that have been linked to a salmonella outbreak.

The products are:

10-ounce cartons of Ethnic Gourmet Chicken Pad Thai (UPC code 18687-70054, lot codes WC7 and WC8

12-ounce bowls of Trader Ming's Spicy Kung Pao Chicken, UPC code 0379526, lot codes WC7M and WC8

The shipping containers had the establishment number P-9744 printed on the side.

An Illinois-based ice cream maker, Midwest Ice Cream, is recalling 56-ounce cartons of Giant Eagle Monkey Business ice cream, with the date of July 31, 2009, for the same reason. The cartons of ice cream were distributed in Maryland and Pennsylvania, in addition to locales elsewhere.

The recalled ice cream cartons have a UPC code of 030034032814.
