Strip-club robbers sought

1STRIP-CLUB ROBBERS SOUGHT

Philadelphia police are still looking for the two masked robbers who made off with $33,000 on Saturday from the office safe at Club Onyx, a strip club on Columbus Boulevard near the Walt Whitman Bridge.

The two robbers entered the club about 3:30 p.m. before it opened for business and forced the regional manager to open the safe, said Officer Christine O'Brien, a police spokeswoman.

Both were described as black males, between 25 and 30, dressed in black including masks over their faces, O'Brien said. One had a gun. The regional manager and a cleaning person who was in the club were not injured, O'Brien said.

2WARRANT IN STABBING DEATH

An arrest warrant was issued yesterday for the man believed to be responsible for the fatal stabbing Saturday of a woman inside the home they shared on West 22nd Street in Chester, according to police. Tyrone Blake, 49, is sought in the slaying of his girlfriend, a woman in her 40s, who was stabbed multiple times, police said.

Her remains were found covered in blood under a mattress in a second-floor bedroom. Paramedics from Crozer-Chester Medical Center pronounced her dead shortly after arriving at 4:26 p.m. Her name was withheld pending notification of next of kin.

"We are actively looking for him. We don't know if he's still in the area, but we hope so," Detective Joseph McFate said of Blake.

3POLICE: THIEF CAUGHT ON CAMERA

Sharp-eyed security personnel at the Parx Casino in Bensalem nabbed a pick-pocket on Saturday, authorities said. Shortly before 10:30 a.m., Heung Lam Li, 62, of Philadelphia, was caught on video surveillance removing a wallet from the jacket pocket of a Pennington, N.J., man who was seated, playing a table game, officials said.

After getting the wallet, Li went to a women's bathroom and was stopped by security after she tried to leave, authorities said. State Trooper Carrie A. Gula responded and found the victim's wallet in a trashcan inside the bathroom and $176 that Li allegedly tried to conceal. Li was charged with theft and receiving stolen property, police said.

4FOUR NABBED IN BRAWL

Four men were arrested late Saturday after a wild bar fight that spilled onto the 1200 block of South 21st Street in Point Breeze.

The men argued over a woman inside the 12-52 Crabhouse about midnight. Three police officers on bike patrol responded to the fight, and one officer shot one man in the shoulder, police said. A second man was shot in the foot by one of the three other men involved in the fight, authorities said. The four men were arrested. The officers were not injured.

5COPS: BURQA BANDIT BOOKED

Delaware State Police say they've arrested a Wilmington woman who committed two bank robberies while wearing a burqa.

Lashawnda Jones, 30, was arrested Friday and faces charges of robbery, conspiracy and wearing a disguise during a felony.

Police said Jones robbed two TD Bank branches - one in Bear on Oct. 15 and one in Wilmington on Oct. 22. Each time, police said, she wore a burqa - a traditional Muslim garment that covers the face. Police said she's also wanted for robberies at TD Bank branches in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

6MAN STABBED IN TACONY

A 19-year-old man was in critical condition at Aria Health's Torresdale Campus after being stabbed in the chest in Tacony Creek Park last night, police said. Police haven't reported a motive or arrests, but say the man was stabbed by someone he knows outside a home on Oakmont Street near Torresdale Avenue at 8:30 p.m.

7ESCAPEE CAUGHT IN GERMANTOWN

An escaped prisoner from Maryland on the lam for about 24 hours was arrested at a Germantown restaurant last night, police said.

Philadelphia police arrested Kevin Talley shortly before 7 p.m. after State Police reported he had escaped Saturday from the Baltimore Pre-Release Facility, where he was jailed for attempted murder.

About 5 p.m., SWAT and other law-enforcement units blocked off streets around a home on Wayne Avenue near Apsley Street, where relatives of Talley's reportedly live, after police received reports that he was spotted on the roof of the home. Talley fled, but was detained at a nearby Popeye's on Chelten Avenue near Knox Street, police said. Talley will be brought back to Maryland to face escape charges.
