The FBI is asking for the public's help in identifying the man who robbed a PNC Bank on Academy Road near Nanton Drive in the Northeast about 10:45 a.m. yesterday.

Police said the robber slid a burgundy velvet bag and a demand note across the counter to a teller and fled with an undisclosed amount of money. He was described as a white or Hispanic, between 18 and 24, with light facial hair. He was wearing a black hooded jacket and baseball cap. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call the FBI at 215-418-4000.

Bandit hits credit union

The FBI is searching for a gunman who held up the Sun East Federal Credit Union on Frankford Avenue near Linden, Torresdale, about noon Wednesday.

Police said the man pointed a black handgun at tellers and fled with an undisclosed amount of money. He was seen jumping into the trunk of a white car parked nearby. He is described as a black, age 25 to 35; he was wearing a dark wool ski cap, a cream-colored scarf and black pants. Tipsters can call the FBI with any information at 215-418- 4000.

Delco rep calling it quits

Longtime Republican state Rep. Ron Raymond, of Delaware County, said yesterday he isn't running for re-election this year and endorsed his chief of staff, Nick Miccarelli, as his replacement.

Raymond, the minority chairman of the House Liquor Control Committee, has been a member of the House since 1985, representing the 162nd District in southeastern Delaware County. Miccarelli is a Ridley Park councilman who has served in Iraq with the Pennsylvania Army National Guard.

Power Wheelchairs are available to senior citizens and the disabled at no cost through the Senior Wheels USA Program.

The wheelchairs are provided to those who can no longer walk safely or propel a manual wheelchair and who meet additional guidelines for the program.
