Celebs flocking to Elkins Estate

Will regular folks flock to Eskin statements?

THE ELKINS ESTATE has been a site for famous folks as of late, including Harrison Ford and Victoria's Secret models. Now, add Apollo Creed's son to the list.

I hear that "Creed," the "Rocky" sequel featuring Sylvester Stallone, as well as Michael B. Jordan as the titular son of Carl Weathers' character, was filming on the property of the Dominican Retreat House.

In 2012, Ford filmed the little-seen thriller "Paranoia" there, along with Liam Hemsworth (who brought then-gal pal Miley Cyrus along for the ride). Victoria's Secret also filled the estate with Angels when the lingerie behemoth rented it out for a winter catalog shoot.

Eskin's been 'Had'

Howard Eskin is PO'd.

Yeah, that's nothing new for the Fox 29 sports reporter, but now he has an outlet. Eskin has a new daily segment on the 5 p.m. newscast called "Howard's Had It" where he rants against everything from false weather reports to the New England Patriots' deflated ball scandal and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie. "It's not done much on the local scene," Eskin told me about his editorializing feature. "Other than Fox, people are too worried about offending people. We all live in the same world, we all have the same issues. This is just part of the news, what happens to us every day."

Are there any limitations on Eskin?

"They haven't told me yet, but you know what happens with me!" Eskin said. "They haven't told me anything. You can put that in capital letters."

'Mob' glamour

Former Philly "Mob Wives" star Alicia DiMichele is doing a business overhaul of her boutique empire. DiMichele owned Addiction Boutique, with locations on East Passyunk Avenue and in Cherry Hill, but shuttered those in favor of a new shop in Marlton, N.J., simply called Alicia DiMichele Boutique (The Promenade at Sagemore, 500 Route 73 South). The store officially opened this weekend.

Current "Mob Wives" star Natalie Guercio Instagrammed her approval of the new shop, writing, "You deserve nothing but the BEST! Im super ecstatic for you! Best of Luck to you and the Future & Continued success of AD Boutique, I'm so Proud of you!! YOU DID IT!!!!! I LOVE YOU."

The store features DiMichele's own clothing line, which she showcased in a fashion show at the Pool After Dark (777 Harrah's Blvd., Atlantic City) in January.

All about that bass (player)

A hunk with talent who is also a do-gooder? Be still my beating heart! Philadelphia Orchestra assistant principal bass player and Sexy Single (Class of 2014) Joseph Conyers was recently named the musical director for the All-City Orchestra of the Philadelphia School District. Conyers' charity, Project 440, will run the orchestra. To celebrate, the All-City Orchestra will host a concert on March 2 at the Kimmel Center (300 S. Broad St.).

OUT AND ABOUT

Meek Mill wasn't in Philly this weekend. I know because he was hanging courtside with love Nicki Minaj at the NBA All-Star event on Saturday night. The two later hosted a party together at Manhattan's Copacabana. The celeb couple haven't officially come out as together publicly but, c'mon, can you think of a better Valentine's Day date than courtside for the slam-dunk contest?

Sami Gayle, of CBS's "Blue Bloods," which stars mustache hall-of-famer Tom Selleck, was in town this weekend supporting the Liberty Bell Classic, a tournament put on by the University of Pennsylvania for Youth Debate, a student initiative that provides Philly schools with the resources to have debate programs. Gayle is a big supporter of the group, and competed in the Liberty Bell Classic in 2012, making it all the way to the Tournament of Champions, where only the top debaters compete.
