* Fall's favorite fruit gets its 37th annual salute at Peddler's Village (Route 202 and Street Road, Lahaska) with the Apple Festival, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, rain or shine. Admission and parking are free. Apple fritters, dumplings and cider are among the apple dishes Village restaurants will feature. Sample apple butter or take home a bushel of locally grown fruit. And there's an Apple Pie Eating Contest, 3 p.m. both days, with competitions for ages 10 and under, 11-14 and 15 and up.

* Chez Colette at the Sofitel-Philadelphia (120 S. 17th St.) has new seasonal menus with an Express Lunch option (guaranteed in and out in 25 minutes) and, for dinner, a $23 Plat du Jour: duck confit (Monday), blanquette de veau (Tuesday), couscous with vegetable ragout, lamb sausage and harissa sauce (Wednesday), coq au vin (Thursday) and salmon with butternut squash risotto (Friday).

* The Oceanaire Seafood Room (700 Walnut St.) will partner with Ste. Michelle Wine Estates for a wine dinner at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 7. The $65, five-course meal will feature such pairings as Crusted Rhode Island Striped Bass and Chateau Ste. Michelle Chardonnay Ethos. Reservations, 215-625-8862.
