A source confirmed a report by Matt Vender of Owlscoop.com that former Cherry Hill West cornerback Harrison Hand, who played his first two years at Baylor, has transferred to Temple.

Hand, who has two years of eligibility remaining, is enrolled in class at Temple, the source said.

According to NCAA transfer rules, Hand would have to sit out a year, but two sources said there may be an appeal due to a request by Hand to be closer to home for family reasons.

This year the 6-foot, 192-pound Hand appeared in 10 games for Baylor with 13 tackles and three pass breakups.

As a freshman he had 42 tackles, eight pass breakups and an interception while playing in all 12 games.

During his senior year at Cherry Hill West, Hand was an Inquirer first-team all-South Jersey selection on defense.

Temple is looking to fill the cornerback void by the departure of Rock Ya-Sin, the Owls top NFL prospect, who just competed in the Senior Bowl.

Temple signed 17 players in the early signing period. The Owls aren’t expected to sign many more players during the next signing period which begins Feb. 6, although one of the sources didn’t discount the possibility of another transfer or two coming to Temple.
