Woman killed in Delco hit-and-run

A woman was fatally struck by a vehicle that reportedly left the scene Wednesday night in western Delaware County, authorities said.

The accident occurred shortly before 9:50 p.m. in the area of Wilmington West Chester Pike and Pyle Road in Concord Township, a county dispatcher said.

Emergency responders reportedly found the woman's body on the side of the road and attempted CPR. The Medical Examiner's Office then was called to the scene, the dispatcher said. The striking vehicle was described as white with its passenger-side mirror missing.

The accident was being investigated by the Pennsylvania State Police.
