Man fatally struck by SEPTA train in Montco

A man was struck and killed by a train in Montgomery County on Monday, disrupting service on the Lansdale/Doylestown Line for several hours.

The man was hit by an outbound train about 9:20 a.m. Monday near the Fortuna station in Lansdale, the transit agency said.

Service on the Regional Rail was suspended between the Lansdale and Doylestown stations for nearly three hours as emergency crews respond to the scene.

Trains were beginning to operate by noon, though continued delays were expected.

Further details weren't available. The victim's condition wasn't immediately known. The incident remains under investigation.
