Man shot dead in West Philly

Police are investigating an overnight shooting that left a man dead in West Philadelphia.

The shooting happened around 3 a.m. Monday on the unit block of North Yewdall Street, Philadelphia police said.

The victim, who was shot in his face and chest, was pronounced dead at the scene at 3:11 a.m. The victim's name was not immediately released.

No information about the motive or any suspects was available.
