You think it’s cold in Philly ... Other cities are colder. By a lot.

If you were in Chicago or Duluth, you would probably find yourself thinking, "On the whole, I'd rather be in Philadelphia."

So you think it’s cold in Philadelphia. But the Midwest is in the midst of an even more intense deep freeze, with temperatures far below zero. In the nine o’clock hour, when it was 8 degrees at Philadelphia International Airport, here’s what it was like in some other cities. And that’s without wind chill factored in.

Chicago: -20

International Falls, Minn.: -39

Duluth, Minn.: -31

Grand Forks, N.D.: -23

Bismarck, N.D.: -5

Grand Rapids, Mich.: -10

Pittsburgh: -3
