LOS ANGELES — Joel Embiid is expected to play Tuesday night against the Los Angeles Lakers despite missing the morning shootaround at Santa Monica High School.

The 76ers center is dealing with an upset stomach. Sixers reserve post player Jonah Bolden will miss the game at the Staples Center because of right Achilles soreness.

Embiid is averaging 31.3 points, 8.7 rebounds, 5.0 assists, and 4.6 blocks in three career games against the Lakers. His most memorable performance against them came when he finished with 46 points, 15 rebounds, 7 assists and 7 blocks in a 115-109 victory in Los Angeles on Nov. 15, 2017. Nearly unstoppable, he made 14 field goals and 16 of 19 free throws.

This season, Embiid averages 27.2 points, 13.3 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.96 blocks.

Meanwhile, Bolden has developed into a key reserve for the Sixers (32-18). The rookie has recently shown his ability to stretch the floor and block shots. He’s averaging 3.8 points and 3.6 rebounds in 12.6 minutes in 25 appearances.

Bolden had a career-high 14 points, making 4 of 5 three-pointers, against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Jan. 15. He finished that game with two blocks. He has blocked four shots twice this season: Dec. 22 against Toronto and Jan. 21 against Houston.

LeBron James and Kyle Kuzma will miss Tuesday’s game for the Lakers (26-24). James has been sidelined since Christmas with a groin injury. Kuzma is out with a left-hip injury. Villanova product Josh Hart, who is dealing with knee tendinitis, will play.
