Bound for Jersey

Four teams will play games in North Jersey this weekend. Three of the contests will be played at Rutgers University.

West Catholic faces its second straight Garden State foe when it squares off against Hudson Catholic at 6 p.m. Friday at Rutgers. The Burrs edged Paramus Catholic, 18-16, last week.

Imhotep Charter looks to rebound from a 27-8 loss to DeMatha Catholic (Md.) when it visits Montvale's St. Joseph Regional at 2 p.m. Saturday.

The Battle on the Banks showcase at Rutgers — the school is on the banks of the Raritan River — involving Archbishop Wood and St. Joseph's Prep, is set for Saturday. Wood takes on Bergen Catholic at 4 p.m., and St. Joe's Prep meets St. Peter's Prep at 7.

For the second straight week, Neumann-Goretti's scheduled nonleague game was canceled. N-G was slated to play Ballou (D.C.) on Saturday afternoon, but Saints coach Albie Crosby said Ballou's coach informed him his team was opting out of the game because of several injuries.
