Haverford School guard Levan Alston orally committed on Tuesday morning to play basketball at Temple.

The 6-foot-3 senior chose the Owls over Penn State and Virginia Commonwealth. ESPN ranks Alston as a four-star recruit and the No. 3 senior in the state.

He visited Happy Valley over the weekend and was on the field before Saturday's football game against Northwestern.

Alston's father, Levan, played at Temple in the 1990s alongside new assistant coach Aaron McKie. The former 76ers is like an uncle to the younger Alston.

Alston joins Team Final AAU teammate Trey Lowe as Temple's two recruits in the Class of 2015. Lowe, a 6-6 guard, committed to Temple in August.
