Penn Charter duo team for no-hitter against Shipley

Penn Charter's Anastasia Lewis and Ava Nicolucci proved to be unsolvable for Shipley. The two pitchers combined for a no-hitter as the visiting Quakers defeated Shipley, 15-0, in a nonleague game Saturday.

The two pitchers combined for a no-hitter as the visiting Quakers defeated Shipley, 15-0, in a nonleague game Saturday.

The home team's only baserunner came on the only walk Lewis allowed. Lewis also struck out four in three innings. Nicolucci pitched the final two frames.

The Quakers' Faith Fenton hit a grand slam in the third inning.

Ayanna Matthews also stood out at the plate, by going 3 for 3.

In other nonleague softball action:

Alyssa Michniewicz had a double, but visiting Conwell-Egan fell to Steinert, 12-2.

Lacrosse

Victoria Betterly and Ali Diamond each scored three goals as host Plymouth Whitemarsh overpowered Lower Merion, 14-4.

In other nonleague action:

Sam McGee scored six goals and Jules Greco dished out three assists to help host Abington to an 11-7 win over Council Rock North.

Bri O'Donnell scored six goals and Michelle Dyck made 11 saves as visiting North Penn defeated Boyertown, 13-10.

Track

Villa Joseph Marie's Kaela Jolibois won the 400 meter dash at the Springfield Invitational.

Teammate Camila Drobac won the 800-meter dash and the Jems placed first in the invtational.
