Pa. Boys: Pa. boys: Howard, Pennsbury edge Downingtown East

Pennsbury's Addison Howard hit a step-back jumper at the end of the fourth quarter to send the Falcons' boys' basketball game with Downingtown East into overtime.

From there, Howard hit two free throws in the extra period to help the hosts to a 60-57 nonleague victory Saturday.

Howard finished with 20 points and Mark Flagg scored 19.

In other nonleague play:

Khalil White scored 15 points, and Justin Sutton and Amir Lewis each scored 14 points to help visiting Cheltenham edge Abington, 77-73.

Cheltenham is ranked 11th in Southeastern Pennsylvania by The Inquirer. Abington is ranked 10th.

Masterman's Jesse Turkson scored two of his 21 points with two seconds left to force double overtime against GAMP. Liam Shanahan hit the winning shot to give the visiting Blue Dragons a 59-56 win.

Javon Green-Springfield scored 15 of his 20 points in the fourth quarter and overtime to help Strath Haven to a 74-66 victory at Unionville.

Jordan Young scored 17 points and Rome Boyer scored 15 as No. 8 Coatesville defeated visiting Frederick Douglass Academy, 62-55.

Mason Williams scored 11 of his 21 points in the third quarter and hit five three-pointers as host Penn Charter defeated Cristo Rey, 60-45.

Ryan McCrossan scored 21 points and visiting Garnet Valley defeated Kennett, 89-46.

Tommy Funk had 18 points and six rebounds, and Tyree Pickron had 15 points and eight rebounds as No. 25 Archbishop Wood defeated Academy of the New Church, 56-50, at Holy Family.

Mike Buckmire had 26 points and seven steals for Germantown Friends in its 51-37 victory over Franklin Learning Center.

Kwahzere Ransom scored 25 points and Math, Civics, and Sciences defeated Wilson-West Lawn, 61-57, at Reading.

Christian Ray scored 10 of his 25 points in the first quarter and host Octorara defeated West Philadelphia, 58-51.

Khaleeq Campbell scored 28 points and No. 16 Chester won at Whitehall, 76-68.
