Tues. S.J. girls’ roundup: Cinnaminson stops Moorestown streak

Meghan Malloy of Cinnaminson finished first, covering Rancocas Valley's 3.1-mile course in 19 minutes, 39 seconds.

Field Hockey

Moira Penza knocked in a pass from Montana Fleming with 7 minutes, 40 seconds left in regulation, sending fourth-ranked Bishop Eustace to a 1-0 victory over second-ranked Shawnee in an Olympic Conference clash.

Alex Pecora came up big between the pipes for the Crusaders, blocking a dozen shots to keep Shawnee off the scoreboard. The Renegades wasted a nine-save effort by Elina Pereira.

In other Olympic Conference action:

Top-ranked Eastern received scoring from eight players in rolling over visiting Paul VI, 10-0. Stephanie Byrne and Jade Dixon had two goals apiece for the Vikings, who improved to 3-0.

Lindsey Hatch led the way with a hat trick and two assists for sixth-ranked Washington Township in a 7-1 triumph at Seneca.

Candice Dandridge and Taylor Klevenz broke through for goals in the final 15 minutes of regulation, enabling Cherry Hill West to pull out a 2-0 win at Timber Creek. Lions netminder Beth Carfagno earned the shutout by turning aside 15 shots.

Danielle Frasca converted Rachel Martin's penalty corner in the first half and deposited a pass from Tara Vittese after intermission, as host Camden Catholic controlled play throughout in taking down Triton, 2-0.

Cape-Atlantic. Mackenzie Lindquist and Shannon Lawson scored in support of goalie Katie Johnson (four saves), sending fifth-ranked Ocean City to a 2-0 triumph at Mainland.

Kristy Blake orchestrated Absegami's attack, producing two goals and a pair of assists in a 5-0 home win over Atlantic City. Braves netminder Michele McCann stopped 11 shots in recording the shutout, while Vikings goalie Jordan Biagi was credited with 16 saves.

Casey Derella assisted on two goals and Tara Spears made 15 saves to key Millville's 3-1 victory at Oakcrest.

Host Buena rang up 23 shots on goal, with Karlie Gruccio, Molly Nichols, Brittany Goeller and Casey Sturts combining for 10 goals and three assists in a 10-0 romp past Bridgeton.

Nonleague. Melanie Hazlett had two goals, Lindsey Treptow chipped in a pair of assists and Alicia Carthan provided shutout goaltending in Bordentown's 4-0 win at Hamilton West.

Soccer

Rebecca Forcellini found the net off a feed from Lauren Vranich with two minutes to go in the first half, and eighth-ranked Cinnaminson held on to edge host Delran, 1-0, in a Burlington County League match.

Katie Larson had five saves to keep the host Bears close, but the shutout and win went to the Pirates' Vicky Cocozza (three saves).

In other Burlco matches:

Kayla Pagnani's second-half goal pulled host Bordentown into a 1-1 draw with Burlington Township. Kellie MacIntosh scored for the Falcons.

Pemberton overcame an own goal, getting two scores from Essence Buckley to win, 3-1, at Burlington City.

Katie Barron, Shambree Bonner, Courtney France and Hannah Sost supplied the scoring in Northern Burlington's 4-0 victory over visiting Maple Shade.

Colonial. Jayne Pinsky scored twice, Ali Glickman chipped in a goal and an assist, and Taylor Nichols set up a pair of goals, powering host Haddon Heights past Overbrook, 6-1.

Gateway carried the play, peppering Haddon Township goalie Katie Getzinger with 14 shots, but the visiting Hawks made the most of their chances to prevail, 5-0. Nicky Cutera scored twice, with Cassidy McSorley, Haley Philpott and Patrice Maro adding a goal apiece.

Laurel Falana netted her third and fourth goals of the season and teammate Olivia Blaber celebrated her first varsity goal, highlighting Haddonfield's 3-1 home win over Sterling.

Paulsboro goalkeeper Raven Robinson kept busy, turning aside 21 shots, but the Red Raiders offered no offensive support in a 4-0 loss to visiting Audubon.

Woodbury rocked host Lindenwold, 6-0, with two goals apiece by Sydney Dennen and Alexis Gligor.

Cape-Atlantic. Ally Vitrano scored one goal and set up another to back the shutout goaltending of Hannah Paugh, paving the way for Absegami's 3-0 home win over Hammonton.

Nonleague. Briana Howarth scored twice, Mary Daniel contributed a goal and two assists, and goalie Liz Boccolini (eight saves) was flawless in the nets as host Moorestown Friends defeated Medford Tech, 5-0.

Rebecca Schultz had 11 saves and Alex DeAngelis put in a first-half goal, but Moorestown couldn't find the equalizer in falling, 2-1, to visiting Pennington.
