Penn State quarterback Matt McGloin invited to Redskins camp

Former Penn State quarterback Matt McGloin has been invited to the Washington Redskins' rookie camp this week.

Former Penn State quarterback Matt McGloin has been invited to the Washington Redskins' rookie camp this week.

The Redskins haven't formally announced it yet, but McGloin tweeted the news himself on Tueday.

"It's been a hectic process, and unfortunately I didn't hear my name called on draft day," McGloin told Pennlive.com. "We were waiting, and more and more offers kept coming, but I felt that going to Washington this week and going to rookie camp was the best place."

McGloin will compete with Nick Cousins, Rex Grossman and Pat White to back up starter Robert Griffin III. Quarterback depth will be especially important for the Redskins this year considering Griffin's injury history.
