Two Reid sons have troubles in traffic
Garrett, 23, was in a crash that seriously hurt a driver. Britt, 21, was separately accused of road rage.
Two of Andy Reid's sons were questioned by police after separate traffic incidents yesterday in Montgomery County.
Garrett Reid, 23, the oldest of the Eagles coach's three sons, was involved in a serious accident yesterday afternoon in Plymouth Township, police said.
Britt Reid, 21, was being investigated regarding an alleged road-rage confrontation in West Conshohocken, police confirmed. Other media reported that Britt Reid had been hurrying to the scene of his brother's accident.
Garrett Reid was driving a black Jeep Liberty SUV that collided with a car at Germantown Pike and Arch Road about 2:30 p.m., according to police.
"Witnesses say he may have missed a red light," said Joe Lawrence, deputy chief of police for Plymouth Township.
Reid and the other driver were alone in their cars. Air bags for both vehicles deployed during the accident, police said.
The driver of a Ford Taurus, an unidentified woman from the Harrisburg area, was taken by helicopter to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, police said. She was listed in serious condition.
According to Lawrence, police were investigating the accident and "looking at all possibilities," including whether alcohol or drugs played a part.
Reid was not given a field-sobriety test at the scene, according to Lawrence, who said Reid was not injured.
No charges were filed against Reid, who was questioned by police and released about 7 p.m.
The Eagles said last night that they were aware of the accident but had no comment. Andy Reid was out of town at the time of the accident. It is believed he was at a vacation home he recently purchased in Southern California.
In the second incident, Britt Reid was driving on Matson Ford Road near Conshohocken, a source said, when he got into a verbal altercation with another driver.
Britt Reid allegedly exchanged insults and gestures with the other driver as they drove down the road, according to a Fox29 report. At a stop light, Reid allegedly got out of his car and approached the other driver, who remained in his car.
The second driver told Britt Reid to go back to his car, which Reid did, Fox29 reported.
Officer Ray Sokolowsky, on duty last night at the West Conshohocken police station, confirmed that Britt Reid was under investigation but released no details.
He said a full report would be made public early this morning.
Britt Reid was not charged last night.
