President Trump's Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh will testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee Thursday morning following allegations of sexual assault.

Kavanaugh along with his accuser, Christine Blasey Ford, a professor at Palo Alto University in California, are both scheduled to speak during today's hearings, giving opening statements before taking on questions from the committee, comprised of 21 senators. Rachel Mitchell, a sex crimes prosecutor from Arizona, has been hired to question Ford for Republican senators.

"I am here today not because I want to be. I am terrified," Christine Blasey Ford will say in her prepared opening statement. "I am here because I believe it is my civic duty to tell you what happened to me while Brett Kavanaugh and I were in high school."

Since the committee began negotiating with Ford about speaking at the historic hearings that have drawn comparisons to Anita Hill's 1991 testimony against then-Supreme Court nominee Clarence Thomas, two other women come forward accusing Kavanaugh of sexual misconduct. Senators have also questioned Kavanaugh about two additional allegations made anonymously.
