Featherman: Call him 'Chaka Con'

Chaka Con, I don't feel for you.

Chaka Fattah, the former congressman representing Philadelphia, singlehandedly took public corruption to new heights in Philadelphia, displaying unparalleled arrogance and hubris along the way. And for that he was sentenced to 10 years in prison Monday.

So I'd like to ask him:

Who do you think you are?

Clearly, you still think you're hot stuff since you're unwilling to accept the very light sentence the judge handed down today and plan to appeal your conviction – costing taxpayers more money. Let Philadelphia heal from your swindling.

Lying to cover up bribes won't go uncovered any longer in Philly, nor will misappropriating campaign funds. Take your punishment like a man.

Instead, you've become the master of changing the subject, urging the court to consider the "tens of millions of people" you claim you've helped over the years.

How about the tens of millions of people you lied to and hurt, as confirmed by your conviction of bank fraud, bribery, mail and wire fraud, money laundering and racketeering?

I'm one of them. I live in your, thankfully, former district.

As much as I want to see the judge throw away the key, I realize that you're likely to get out in half the time.

And if you're hoping for a Christmas pardon by President Obama, don't expect it.

Certainly don't hold your breath once Donald Trump becomes President. You aren't on his Christmas card list.
