Passengers and crews on two international flights that arrived in Philadelphia on Thursday afternoon were held for a medical review after some passengers on each flight experienced flu-like symptoms.

The flights were American Airlines #755 from Paris and American Airlines #717 from Munich. A total of 12 passengers reported the symptoms, the airport said in a statement.

As a precaution, all passengers and crew — totaling about 250 people — were assessed, and all except for the 12 were expected to be released, the airport said.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has been notified.

A similar scene unfolded Wednesday in New York City after 11 people on an Emirates airline flight from Dubai were taken to a hospital suffering flu-like symptoms, Reuters reported.
