Drexel University's "Smart House" is one of three recipients of the World Green Energy Symposium's NOVA award, which annually honors outstanding contributions in new green-energy alternatives and innovations in existing energy technology.

The award is to be presented Wednesday to Smart House students and staff at the three-day conference in Philadelphia. The other winners are Greenworks, a Philadelphia initiative that aims to reduce city government's energy consumption and increase its alternative-energy production, and the Climate Change and Sustainable Development Policy of Rio de Janeiro. - AP
