Philadelphia police are looking for a driver involved in a hit-and-run that killed a woman Saturday night near 20th and Lambert Streets.

The woman, who has not been identified, suffered trauma to the head and abdomen after being struck while crossing the street about 7:40 p.m., according to police spokesman Lt. Frank Vanore. A medic pronounced her dead during transport to Temple University Hospital.

Police last night were waiting for the Medical Examiner's Office to confirm the woman's identity before contacting family. Vanore said the car might have been a white or gray Ford Crown Victoria or Mercury Marquis with tinted windows.
