Crediting their K-9 unit, Upper Uwchlan Township police yesterday announced the arrest of a suspect in a 2004 bank robbery.

John Mason, 24, of Palmyra, Pa., who was already in the Lebanon County Prison on unrelated charges, faces charges of robbery, aggravated assault and related offenses, police said.

Officers went to the National Penn Bank on Pottstown Pike at 2:18 p.m. on April 9, 2004, after a man brandished a knife, demanded and got money, and fled. During a search of the area, the K-9 team located DNA evidence that ultimately led to Mason. - Kathleen Brady Shea
