Oaklyn man charged with exposing self at home

A convicted sex offender has been arrested at his Camden County home, charged with exposing himself and masturbating in view of his neighbors, authorities said.

John J. O'Brien, 62, allegedly stood naked at 2:50 a.m. Saturday in the window of his first-floor Oaklyn apartment. A resident called police. O'Brien, who was taken to the county jail, was charged with lewdness, said Bill Shralow, spokesman for acting Camden County Prosecutor Joshua M. Ottenberg.

O'Brien was convicted in 2001 of endangering the welfare of a child for exposing himself to 12 girls under the age of 18, according to the state's Sex Offender Internet Registry. - Sam Wood
