Woman, 75, fatally stabbed in North Philadelphia

Police said a suspect is in custody in the deadly attack in the Fairhill section.

A 75-year-old woman was stabbed to death Friday morning in a rowhouse in North Philadelphia, police said. A suspect is in custody.

Police said the stabbing occurred about 7:05 a.m. in a residence on the 2500 block of North Marshall Street in the Fairhill section.

The victim, who had been stabbed multiple times in the neck and chest, was taken to Temple University Hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 7:53 a.m., police said. Her name has not been released yet.

Police provided no other details except to say that a weapon was recovered and a suspect was in custody.
