A man in his 20s was rushed to the hospital Wednesday night after he was hit by a SEPTA Regional Rail train at Fern Rock Transportation Center, officials said.

The man, whose identity was not released, crossed the station's outbound tracks and was pulling himself up on the platform about 6 p.m. when he was hit by a commuter train, according to Kristin Geiger, a SEPTA spokeswoman.

Geigor said the express train, which had just left Temple University station, was passing through Fern Rock on its way to North Wales Station.
