Police shot and killed one of four dogs attacking a 41/2-year-old girl Monday afternoon in North Philadelphia.

Two officers responding to a call regarding a "person screaming" at 10th and Ontario Streets around 4:45 p.m. fired "multiple times" at the dogs, believed to be pitbulls, police said.

The girl was bitten on the face and was treated at the scene, police said.

The three other dogs "are secured," police said, adding that further details will be provided later.
