Philadelphia police were searching for the thieves who smashed two display windows at the Century 21 department store at 801 Market St. in Center City early Thursday morning and then made off with $2,000 worth of clothes.

A burglar alarm was triggered at 4:47 a.m., police said, and responding officers found two broken display windows with mannequins stripped of their clothes and accessories, including handbags.

The cost of the two broken display windows is $7,000, police said. - Chris Palmer
