Police were investigating the discovery late Wednesday afternoon of a man's body wrapped in blankets and a tarp in the city's Fairhill section.

Police were called about 5:40 p.m. to the railroad tracks under the 3000 block of Mascher Street, where the body of a man who appeared to be in his 30s was found, said Chief Inspector Scott Small.

Medical Examiner investigators unwrapped the body and found the man had three stab wounds to his neck, Small said. The official cause of death was pending an autopsy.
