A Lower Makefield contractor was sentenced Friday to 15 to 30 years in state prison for defrauding a dozen victims out of nearly $2 million, according to the Bucks County District Attorney's Office.
John Succi, 59, was convicted last month of 27 felony counts of fraud, theft, and related charges.
While running his contracting business, the District Attorney's Office said, Succi repeatedly signed contracts for home improvement work and related projects, only to subsequently demand more money after he either didn't complete the project or did a poor job.
When taken to court by his victims, authorities said, Succi would file for bankruptcy protection or change the name of his company.
Alan J. Garabedian, an assistant district attorney, prosecuted the case. Common Pleas Judge Diane E. Gibbons imposed the sentence.
