A 69-year-old woman was found bound and raped on the second floor of her Hunting Park home yesterday, police sources said.
A social worker stopped by the elderly woman's home on Franklin Street near Luzerne for a routine visit about 2 p.m. and heard her from her bedroom.
Sources said the woman had been tied up for at least 18 hours and her home had no heat. She was treated for injuries at a local hospital and released.
An unknown man broke into the woman's home late Tuesday night, bound her, attacked her and fled, cops said.
About a week ago, the woman, a cervical-cancer patient who lives alone, invited an unknown man into her home and was promptly robbed of several hundred dollars, sources said. It was not known last night if the two incidents were connected.
