Chester Township mom's absence 'suspicious,' cops say

The disappearance of a Chester Township mother of three has been labeled as "suspicious" after she left sick from work last week and was never heard from again.

When Ronda Garnett, 34, left her job at the Fair Acres geriatric center in Lima around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday because she was sick, she called her mother in Chester to tell her she was on her way to pick up her kids there, police said.

That was the last anyone heard from Garnett.

Police said surveillance video showed that her car, a 1994 tan Oldsmobile with license plate number HGL-7554, left Fair Acres around 1:30 a.m. and traveled south on Route 352. Police have not located the vehicle.

Garnett's family told investigators that her disappearance is unusual because she's always either at work or with her kids.

She is described as a medium-complexioned black woman, about 5-feet-9-inches tall and around 250 pounds. She has short-to-medium length black hair, brown eyes and a tattoo on her right arm that reads "classy lady." She also has nose and ear piercings and was last seen wearing pink scrubs, white shoes and a black jacket with fur around the hood.
