A thief may be facing stiff penalties after he palmed 96 pills of Viagra from the Extra Space Storage facility in Springfield, Delaware County, last week.
"No force was used," Springfield Lt. William Clark said of the theft.
The hardened criminal remains unidentified and at large, police said.
Pfizer Inc., the maker of Viagra, rents space at the self-storage facility on Baltimore Pike, Clark said.
Earlier this month, a shipment of seven boxes of Viagra, each containing 96 sample pills, was sent to the facility and signed for by an on-site storage attendant, police said.
When a Pfizer manager went to pick up the boxes last week, one was missing, Clark said.
The estimated value of the missing box of pills is $1,300, police said.
It's unknown whether the thief was hard up for money and planned to sell the drugs or whether he intended to use them for personal gain.
