Murder tally up by 4 over the weekend

THE GUN VIOLENCE that has been plaguing the city continued unabated over the weekend as four more people were shot dead, raising the year's homicide number to 137, and two others were wounded.

THE GUN VIOLENCE that has been plaguing the city continued unabated over the weekend as four more people were shot dead, raising the year's homicide number to 137, and two others were wounded.

No. 134: JESSE MORALES, 35, of Orianna Street near Somerset, was found shot to death shortly after midnight on Lawrence Street near Indiana Avenue, North Philadelphia. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Another man, 51, was wounded, but police last night had no details about his injuries or where he was treated.

No. 135: GUICI LIU, 46, was shot shortly before 7 a.m. Saturday at 6th Street near Moore in South Philadelphia. He was shot in the chest and arm and was pronounced dead at 7:20 a.m. at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.

No. 136: RASHEEM JOHNSON, 21, was shot to death shortly before 5 p.m. Saturday at 19th Street and Girard Avenue in Fairmount. He was shot in the chest and arm, and was pronounced dead at Hahnemann University Hospital.

Also injured in that incident was an unidentified 27-year-old man. Cops said the man had been shot in the jaw and chest, and was taken to Hahnemann, where he was listed in critical but stable condition.

No. 137: AN UNIDENTIFIED 30-YEAR-OLD WOMAN was shot in the face on Stenton Avenue near 20th Street, West Oak Lane, shortly after 1 a.m. yesterday. She was pronounced dead at Albert Einstein Medical Center.

Also wounded in the incident were a 26-year-old man, shot in the leg, and a 19-year-old man shot in the foot. They were admitted to Einstein in stable condition. *
