On June 17, the Eastern Pennsylvania chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society announced its 2017 man and woman of the year at its grand finale at the Loews Philadelphia Hotel. The grand finale marked the conclusion of a fund-raising drive that began April 6. Local title winners Matt McNally and Denise Bradley will go on to compete for the national title, to be announced later in the summer. The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's mission is to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease, and myeloma, and to improve the quality of life of patients and their families. More than 430 guests enjoyed a cocktail reception, silent auction, sit-down dinner, program, and dancing. A record-breaking $816,200 was raised.
