The Met Philadelphia, which is scheduled to open in December, will debut with a touch of Broadway, thanks to one famed seating manufacturer.

Live Nation Philadelphia has partnered with Irwin Seating Co. to create 3,000 high-end theater seats for the Met Philadelphia. The company has manufactured seating for 33 of the 35 theaters on Broadway in New York, and has created millions of seats for theaters off-Broadway, according to a release.

Now, Irwin Seating will install 3,118 permanent seats at the Met Philadelphia. The cost of the seating was not disclosed.

At the Met, the main floor and box seating areas will feature seats upholstered with JB Martin Porto velour; balcony seating will have seats in JB Martin burgundy velour and CMI Illusion faux leather. Rows will be capped with wood paneling and hardwood chair arms.

"It was important for us to engage with Irwin to create a comfortable, plush, and inviting seat that will enhance our guests' experience each time they visit the Met," Live Nation Philadelphia regional president Geoff Gordon said.

Formerly known as the Philadelphia Metropolitan Opera House, the Met Philadelphia is scheduled to open in December. Currently, it is undergoing a $56 million restoration. It was built in 1908 by famed theater producer and director Oscar Hammerstein.

The Met will announce its first shows Sept. 10.
