Matt Bendik, boyfriend of "Glee" star Becca Tobin, has been found dead in a Philadelphia hotel, the city Medical Examiner's Office confirmed. Bendik's cause of death remained unclear Friday, even after an autopsy was conducted.

Officers were called to the Hotel Monaco, located at 433 Chestnut St., at 1:05 p.m. Thursday after housekeepers found a man unresponsive in his room there, Philadelphia police said.

Medics pronounced the man dead at 1:17 p.m.

There were no obvious signs of foul play, police said.

A spokesman for the Philadelphia Medical Examiner's Office said in an email late this afternoon that an autopsy did not immediately establish a clear cause of 31-year-old Bendik's death. No evidence of trauma was found.

The Medical Examiner's Office will be conducting additional studies, "as is the usual procedure in evaluating a sudden, unexpected death," the spokesman said.

Bendik, a Los Angeles-based nightclub entrepreneur, was reportedly in Philadelphia on a business trip. Tobin, who has played Kitty Wilde on the Fox network series since 2012, apparently did not accompany him, despite initial reports to the contrary.

It wasn't clear when the two last saw each other or where Tobin was at the time of the death.

One nightclub Bendik worked with, DBA Hollywood, posted photos of a sign that said "We love you Matt" on its social media accounts early this morning.

The death comes a few days before the one-year anniversary of another "Glee"-related tragedy: Actor Cory Monteith, who played Finn Hudson on the musical show, was found dead in a Vancouver hotel room on July 13, 2013.

Monteith, 31, died of an overdose of alcohol and heroin.
