CHESTER A new magazine about the city of Chester has been published by a group of Widener University students.

Five students in a magazine writing class at Widener spent the spring semester writing about the city. The magazine, published in November, includes profiles of Phatso's Bakery and a fertility doctor at Crozer-Chester Medical Center, as well as an article about plans for a cultural corridor in the city.

"We are excited about the future of the city, and this magazine helps us tell the story," Mayor John Linder said in a news release about the publication.

Linder led the students on a tour of the city as they began their work.

The magazine was produced with help from a $1,000 grant from John F. Schmutz, a member of Widener's board of trustees.

A limited number of magazines were printed. It is also available online at widener.edu/chestermagazine.
