Dan Gross: Kidd Chris kicks off online radio show today

ALTHOUGH Kidd Chris and sidekick Thomas now live in San Antonio, the radio host says his online radio show is a Philly show, and says he'll be surprised if listeners from other cities tune in.

ALTHOUGH Kidd Chris and sidekick Thomas now live in San Antonio, the radio host says his online radio show is a Philly show, and says he'll be surprised if listeners from other cities tune in.

Chris was fired from 94 WYSP a year ago after a guest, Lady Gash, performed a racist song on-air called "Schwoogies," sung to the tune of Blondie's "Call Me."

He's been off-air since but starting at 3 p.m. today, Kidd Chris aka Chris Foley, 35, will broadcast a two-hour show weekdays at kiddshow.com. We asked if the show meant he didn't want to return to traditional radio, and Chris said, "It's in between."

While he hopes to return to radio, he says the online show will allow "people to hear us the way we want to be heard. It's like going from network TV to cable. We wanted to keep the connection going," says Chris, noting that wherever he does land will have online streaming and that he might as well get the audience now.

"We're gonna hear from radio guys saying who cares about the Internet but music stations are in trouble. Once streaming radio hits cars, it'll be over," he says.

* Both Jessica Springsteen, the daughter of Bruce Springsteen and Patti Scalfia and Hillary Dobbs, daughter of CNN's Lou Dobbs, competed in the Devon Horse Show over the weekend.

Among the other guests opening the club for the summer were Congressman Bob Brady and attorney Chuck Peruto, Jr.

Linda Creed golf outing Sunday

The Linda Creed Foundation, which supports women fighting breast cancer, is gearing up for its annual benefit at Ron Jaworski's Valleybrook Country Club, in Blackwood, N.J. The Sunday event and foundation honor the Mt. Airy-raised songwriter who along with Thom Bell wrote such classics as "You Make Me Feel Brand New" and "Betcha By Golly, Wow" for the Stylistics and "The Greatest Love of All." Creed died of breast cancer in 1986 when she was 37. For info on sponsoring golfers, or to donate, visit chipingolf.com or lindacreed.org.

'Slimebags' preying on seniors

If only everybody was as streetwise as Alan Blackman.

When Blackman got three phone calls last week telling him he was eligible for $500 from the government that could be direct-deposited into his bank account, he knew it was a scam. Blackman asked the would-be con-artist to mail him some paperwork and he received a letter, postmarked from Swedesboro, N.J., telling him to go to a Web site and provide his banking info.

"I'm 78, but I'm not an old man," says Blackman, of Rhawnhurst, who called the Daily News wanting to warn would-be victims.

"I knew it was a scam. If they hit enough people they are gonna get some people who fall for it and get their accounts wiped out," says Blackman, a former Today's Man store manager. "People out of work might be desperate and these slimebags are there to prey on them," he says. *
